We celebrated the new year, and start of the real new millennium on the Navy Pier. (Along with a whole lot of other people.) Instead of the New York ball, Chicago has a ferriswheel. Starting at 23:59:50 one ring of lights is turned off every second. The picture below shows 23:59:59.

The new year was greeted with a huge fire work.
